This site was conceived, designed and is maintained by the pupils of Ysgol Deganwy. The idea to create the site arose when the school installed a Vantage Vue weather station bought by The Friends of Ysgol Deganwy. The children thought that the most appropriate use of such a weather station was to share the information with anyone who might be interested, such as tourists, and people living locally. The weather station was installed during June 2011. This needs to be remembered when looking at annual statistics.
As you can see from the site, as well as getting a brief overview of the current weather conditions in Deganwy, it is also possible to look at different aspects in detail, and also at historical data. The children have decided that more information will be available in due course - but as yet the data is not available.
The weather station is situated on the highest point of the school - atop a chimney. The school itself is located near the historical town of Conwy, in North Wales. This link will direct you to a Google Map. Please note a new window will open that can be closed to return here.
The school is of course a bi-lingual school, but this site is entirely in English. This is because, initially, this is an English language project.
