Netball Champions

Ysgol Deganwy netball team are the champions of Eryri, which consists of the counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. We had to play schools from all over North Wales.

To start with there were smaller tournaments in each county and Ysgol Deganwy won the Colwyn Bay one after winning 6 matches. We met all the other winners of the smaller tournaments in the Eryri tournament.

In the next round we played Ysgol Pentreuchaf and we won

7-0.

Secondly we played Ysgol Llandrillo-yn-Rhos (the other Conwy county champions) and finally won after a very tense match 4-3.

Then we played Ysgol Bro Lleu (Gwynedd) and we beat them 10-2.

Next we played Ysgol Corn Hir (Anglesey) and came out on top with a score of 7-0.

Our last match was crucial because up to that point we had won all of our matches and so we were the favourites to win the tournament. We were victorious, defeating Ysgol Bont Newydd

(Gwynedd) with a score of 2-0 and so became champions of Eryri.

In total we scored 30 goals and only let in 5.

For our achievement we were awarded the Eryri shield. The shield is now on display outside Mr Jones's classroom on the trophy shelf.

We couldn't have done it with out the excellent coaching and non-stop support. We would like to thank every one who has been there for us along the way.
