FRIENDS
OF YSGOL DEGANWY
Half
term is here already, the last few weeks seem to have flown by. We are now busy preparing for our annual Christmas Fair (due
to take place on Friday 28th November) and will shortly be sending
out letters to you all asking for your support once again.
The Fair will have the usual stalls: i.e Bottle Tombola, Chocolate
Tombola and Teddy Tombola. (Any donations for these stalls will be much
appreciated). Father Christmas will also be paying us a visit and children
will be able to see him in his grotto. There
will be lots of other exciting things to buy and do.
Our
Christmas Raffle this year has a first prize of £100, and 2nd prize of £50,
plus lots of other prizes to be won. We
have had tickets printed again and will be sending these out after half term.
More tickets will be available from school reception if needed.
“Chocoholics”
catalogues are available from reception. This
catalogue has a lot of unusual gifts and we raise a lot of money for the school.
Please ask at reception to see one.
The
Christmas Card order has gone off and hopefully we will be sending out your
children’s cards in early December. The
designs this year were fantastic and we will be running a competition when the
order comes back to decide a winner. Watch
this space!!!
We
really appreciate all your support and we are conscious that we are always
asking for more. This year we have
a very large project that we have decided to help with.
The school hall is in desperate need of refurbishment, including some
plasterwork, painting, new blinds and a new projection system that can be used
by the whole school. Due to the
size of the hall, this will need a lot of money and fundraising is essential if
we wish to achieve it. It is a long
term project and we hope that you will continue to support us.
We
will also be contributing towards the Pantomime coaches as we do every year, as
well as donating some money to help towards the cost of the art project
currently being done in the reception area at school.
Over
the last few years we have raised over £25,000 for the school – buying
musical instruments, computers, Wendy House,
PE equipment and donating money
towards the allotment area, gardens, fencing, pagodas, mosaic, and a portable
stage.
All
the money we raise including the 100 Club, Uniform sales, discos, no school
uniform days, bingo nights etc is all ploughed straight back into the school for
the benefit of our children.
Many,
many thanks for your continued support.
Have
a lovely half term break and hopefully we will see you at the Christmas Fair in
November.
