An Eisteddfod is a competetive Welsh festival of the arts. The first Eisteddfod was held by the Welsh King Maelgwn, who lived over 1,400 years ago and had his palace in Deganwy.
Many Eisteddfodau are celebrated in Welsh. There is also have a international Eisteddfod which is held in Llangollen in July.
We dressed up as Welsh characters such as: Rugby players, Welsh ladies, farmers, leeks and daffodils. Leeks and daffodils are Welsh emblems. All the children from the junior department played the recorder. Three children from Bl 6 played their instruments including clarinet, flute and guitar.
