County Inter-school Maths Quiz
On Monday February 13th four pupils, Jamie Wild, Thomas Scholes, Naqib Ahmed and Jennifer Haynes from Mrs. Gunn’s class, Bl. 6, went to Ysgol John Bright for a maths competition.
There were seventeen teams from all around Conwy and they had to play a wide selection of maths games such as Maths Magic and Germs. There were eight games in total. The teams that represented our school were team one, Thomas and Jamie, and team two, Jennifer and Naqib. They played against six teams, but only won five. In the end team two, Naqib and Jennifer, won with 60 points, the highest score you can get!
Ffordd Dyffryn came second with 58 points. Team one came fourth with 49 points. The school received a large shield to keep for the year, a trophy each for Jennifer and Naqib and a special glass trophy for the whole school together with a cheque for £100. Ysgol Deganwy will be the first school engraved on the shield. Both teams thoroughly enjoyed the Maths Quiz and had a great time.
