Catalyst Science Museum Visit 2009

Bl 5/6 had an exciting visit to Catalyst science museum near Runcorn. They explored three floors and answered a quiz about the exhibits. After lunch they went to a science show where a scientist performed experiments.

Demonstrating the effects of liquid nitrogen or dry ice being put in water

 

 

The scientist threatening to blow up one of the teachers but the flask he was holding contained carbon dioxide which is non flammable (fire extinguishers contain carbon dioxide)  

 

Liquid nitrogen has blown the lid off the container and the scientist is about to catch it
