The author of the popular story of Alice in Wonderland was named Lewis Carroll. He wrote the story for a girl, who was called Alice Liddell, because he was a friend of the family.
The connection between Alice and Llandudno is that she used to come to Llandudno on holiday. The Liddell family liked Llandudno so much that they bought a house on West Shore, which you can still see as the Gogarth Abbey Hotel. There is a statue of the White Rabbit by

the boating pool and it is dedicated to Alice and Lewis Carroll.
The story of Alice in Wonderland begins with Alice on a picnic with her big sister, who is reading a book. Alice was bored and did not know what to do, when she saw a White rabbit go past looking at a watch. This made Alice curious, and when the rabbit disappeared down a hole Alice followed and found herself falling down and down.
She found herself in a strange, magical world. When she was exploring this Wonderland she met a number of unusual characters including the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire cat and the caterpillar. Some of the pupils in our class have drawn pictures of them.
