Catalyst Museum Visit 2006
Year six went to a science museum called Catalyst which is near Runcorn. In the morning there was lots of different exhibits for the children to explore and find answers for their worksheets.
In the afternoon they went to a lecture theatre where a lady demonstrated various experiments. She was demonstrating various characteristics of substances such as, solids, liquids and gases.

Here is Andre in the DNA exhibit. Our genes, that decide our individual characteristics, are made up of molecules called DNA. On this exhibit the children were able to devise their own DNA models. The coloured models show the tremendously complicated structure of the DNA molecule. The atoms are in the shape of the helix. |

This group is going for a ride in the glass lift which was on the outside of the building and so it made it possible to see long distant views. |
