The Tempest

(Year 5/6 have been studying the story of Shakespeare's play)

One day a ship containing the king of Naples and many others was attacked by a tempest near an uncharted island.

An  enchanter named Prospero was sitting on the beach with his beautiful daughter Miranda.  Prospero and conjured up the fierce storm.

Prospero told Miranda how they came to this island.  "I was the Duke of Milan," he boomed.  Miranda froze in amazement. Prospero's face

Prospero walked towards some trees calling, "Ariel, Ariel."  A magnificent creature came skipping from the trees darting here and there.

"Are all the people off the ship safe on the island?"

"Yes, master", giggled Ariel.  Ariel had once belonged to a hideous monster named Caliban who made Ariel do nasty things, until Prospero had rescued her and made her his servant.

Ariel darted away.  There was a loud plodding sound.  It

was Caliban, a disgusting, hairy creature, who had been enslaved by Prospero.

A young man came staggering towards Prospero and Miranda. It was the King of Naples's son, Ferdinand.  Miranda stared at him and he stared at her.  This could only mean one thing - they were in love.......
