On the sand

The storm was over. The sun was shining and the sea was calm. Our little boat was still where we had left it on the beach.

I looked over the golden sand that was littered with rubbish (I had brought a bin bag from home to fill with rubbish. I often did this to make the beach clean after a storm).

Two hours later I stood back to admire my work, not a speck of rubbish was there, the sun shone down on the sand and made it seem to glow and sparkle.

I was just about to turn around and go home when something caught my eye. It was blue and yellow and bobbing in the shallow waters. I crossed the beach and waded towards it, grabbed it and pulled it on to land.

It was an umbrella soaking wet but otherwise perfect. I picked it up and started to walk up the beach when I saw it. It was a little button. Without hesitation, I pressed it; there was a whirring noise. I dropped the umbrella but instead of falling to the ground it hovered in the air and the handle extended and what looked like a seat appeared at the end. I looked around to see if anyone was about and sat on the seat. Then a seat belt strapped across me and handlebars came down and the whole thing lifted off the ground.

After an hour I was a professional. It was almost six o’clock when I finally heard my mum calling me. I flew across the beach, spotted they bag of rubbish, grabbed it and flew to the house on the cliff. I landed and ran to my bedroom and hid the umbrella under my bed and put the rubbish in the bin.

At supper my mum said, "You were out late, anything unusual happen?" And I replied no,

    Nothing at all.
