The School Microscopes
The school has got new computer microscopes and

year 5 have been using them.
It is very easy to use. All you have to do is place slides or objects underneath the light in the microscopes and an image of them appears on the screen.
You can have three different magnifications, 10x, 60x

A fossilized ammonite |
and 200x. It is difficult to focus objects under 200x as the image is so big on the screen.
In our class we have been studying rocks and soils.
This fossil was brought in by Lee and it lived possibly before the age of the dinosaurs and is therefore many millions of years old.
You can lift the body of the microscope out of its stand and make a movie. You can also add music to your movie.
