Cherem a village in Nepal

Year 4 this term have been finding out about a village called Cherem in Nepal. It is high up in the Himalayas and is very remote.

Mr Robin Hamer came to talk to the children in year 4. He brought with him his close friend a Nepalese shirpa called Gombu who was born in Cherem and has become a world famous mountaineer.

Miss Russell's class have sent letters to the children in Cherem and are waiting for replies but it will take a long time for the post to come and go because there is no road to this village. It takes seven days to walk to the village from the end of the nearest road.

To help the village, Mr Hamer raised money to build a school.
