Catalyst Visit 2005
Blwyddyn 6 went to visit the Catalyst science museum in Widnes. We were given a questionnaire to fill in. To find the answers we had to do various activities.

| In this experiment of magnetism we had to find out which metal was the weakest magnet. It turned out to be Aluminum. |

| Here we had to make an arch bridge out of foam blocks. It was important to slot the blocks in the correct places putting the key stone in last. You could then stand on it safely. |

With this machine you could make bubbles by pumping and we found that big bubbles caught up small ones because they rose faster. |

With this machine we had to discover which material had least friction therefore making it more slippery. |

Here we had to move some pink coloured liquid from the bottom to the top of the tank by opening and closing valves. |

This time we had to smell all the perfumes and guess what they were. |

In the afternoon the children went to the science demonstration theatre, where a lady organized many experiments. In this one we found out how viscous different liquids were. |
